“Little Johnny: The Movie” is an Australian animated comedy film that was released in the year 2011. It brings to the fore, crude and gallows humor, associated with the infamous “Little Johnny” jokes imagery. The film, directed By Ralph Moser has quite a handful of these jokes to bring out a narrative about suspicious activities around little Johnny’s mischievous characters and focuses on a few incidents that can be somewhat interpreted as his pranks.

Synopsis

The story takes place in the lovely town of Gallangatta and revolves around little Johnny who possesses naughty boy characteristics. Bla Devenn from this site, explains that the movie is said to be “traditional tongue in cheek” and has to it classic cartoons with crass humor. For example, a comment on the Bib boards reads, ‘It is funny with this old Merry Melodies feel, it forgets modern times’.

On the flip side, the film has also been condemned for its repetitive and stereotypical jokes claiming that it lacks creativity. Reviews of users on IMDb state that the characters are okay and the personality is “however, they barely remember a single original gag in the 80 minutes”.

Moreover, such a frequent employment of Australian-English vocabulary, dialects and pronunciations maybe difficult for foreign viewers to understand.
